When it is the board year, children tend to stress themselves and often end up depressed. In an effort to give you a boost, we have some tips and tricks that you will come handy while gearing up for your board year.

1. Plan smartly: Based on the vastness of the syllabus and analysing your proficiency, make sure you give the required amount of time to each subject. For each topic in the chapter, the right amount of time has to be allocated. Take a blueprint of your syllabus in prior. Now, study your lessons according to the weightage of each chapter.

2. Study Textbooks: There is a little chance that the questions will be asked beyond your curriculum textbooks. Learn thoroughly all the topics that are in your textbook as per the syllabus. External reference books can be referred to if you have doubts regarding any topic. For example, Pradeep publications for Physics and Chemistry, practice questions from R.D Sharma for Mathematics. If still, your doubts persist in Maths, the student can refer to various online sites providing Maths NCERT solutions class 12. Make sure that you are well versed with each concept and topic by practising extra questions well in advance.

3.  Practice graphs and diagrams: The diagrams and graphs are an important aspect which is not to be missed out during board exams. Preparing them well will help you to grab some marks. Graphs also hep a student to understand well the relationships between various parameters. You can easily identify linear, exponential, constant relationships using a graph.

4.  Memorise important formulae: Some formulae, notes and dates are repeatedly asked in the board examinations. Ensure that you learn these formulae by-heart well in time before the exam. Make flash cards that you can carry and sticky notes that can be pasted on the walls of your room. Use bright coloured chart papers and stick notes. Seeing them or revising important points helps you to memorise them well.

5. Solve previous year question papers: One of the important parts of preparation is solving the previous year question papers. Solving previous year board papers or sample papers help you get exam ready. A majority of questions are repeated over the years. So try to solve at least last 10 year question papers. Keep a timer on when you are solving these papers. The stipulated time has to be kept 3 hours which is your actual exam duration. This will help you improve your pace of answering the questions. Finding how much time to take for answering a question will also help you analyse your strength and weakness. Eventually, before the exams, you must work on your weak area or concepts.

6. Group study:  A group study always enhances your knowledge of the subject. Ask your friends for a group discussion or study. Studying with peers will help you get your doubts cleared. Exchanging knowledge and studying with others will only improve your skills. Group study validates your preparation and efforts.
