What do you gather about Crocker-Harris from the play?

Mr Crocker-Harris is a serious person by nature who prioritises his work rather than thinking about what other peoples' views are about him. He is a devoted, dutiful, unbiased, disciplined teacher who does the fair evaluation to all of his students.

Comment on the attitude shown by Taplow towards Crocker-Harris.

Taplow thinks his teacher Mr Crocker-Harris is strict but not a sadist. He thinks that the teacher is unbiased, dutiful and very disciplined. He doesn't get easily impressed by anyone's efforts. He doesn't appreciate the effort of Taplow who comes to school on the last as he misses one class before. He doesn't like to be liked by others. He seems feeling less and maintains a distance from the students.

Does Frank seem to encourage Taplow's comments on Crocker-Harris?

Yes. Frank asks several questions about Crocker-Harris from Taplow and often asks him to mimic Crocker-Harris.

A sadist is a person who gets pleasure out of giving pain to others.
