Discuss any three important of the tournament?

The tournaments are very important in the field of sports for the participants,

coaches and physical education teachers:-

a) The tournaments help in developing the technical and tactical skills of a player/team and the game as a whole.

b) In tournament players and teams of different games come forward to participate from different parts of the state or country thus the tournament proved a chance to search new talent in the sport.

c) The tournament provides ample recreation to the spectators. That is why a large no. of people go to watch the Olympic game and world cups of various games and sports.

In this type of tournament, a team‟s once defected automatically gets eliminated. Only the winning teams continuing in the tournament. A team winning all the matches in the tournaments is finally declared as the winning team.

Teams:

In the 1st round, team A and B, as well as C and D, play their matches. If team B and team D become the winner of the 1st round, these team, i.e., B and D get the opportunity to play in the 2nd round and team A and team C will be eliminated from the tournament. Finally, team D becomes the winner of the tournament.

Advantage of a knock-out tournament:

1. The knock-out tournaments are less expensive because the team, which gets defeated, is eliminated from the competition.
2. The knock-out tournament is helpful in enhancing the standard of sports because each team tries to present the best performance to avoid the defeat.
3. Owing to less number of matches, it requires less time to complete the tournament.
4. Minimum numbers of the officers are required in organizing such type of tournaments.

The disadvantage of a knock-out tournament

1. There may be many chances of elimination of good teams in the 1st or 2nd round. So, good teams may not reach into the final round.
2. There are maximum chances of weak teams to enter into the final round.
3. Spectators may have enough interest in the final match.

A) If the scheduled time and expenditure for the conduct of the tournament is insufficient as per the no. of participating teams.

B) If the no. of participating is more in proportion to the scheduled time and expenditure.

C) If the no. Of official is insufficient.

In this type of tournament, the total teams are divided into four Zones. All the teams play their matches within their Zone on a league basis. Further, the winner of each team again plays with each other or league basis. Finally, One team is declared as the winner of inter-zonal or group tournament.
