પ્રકાશ : પરાવર્તન અને વક્રીભવન

માધ્યમનો નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક કોને કહે છે ? બે માધ્યમના નિરાપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંકના રૂપમાં સ્નેલના નિયમનું વ્યાપક સ્વરૂપ મેળવો.

પ્રકાશનું વક્રિભવન : આકૃતીમાં સપાટી AB માધ્યમ 1 અને માધ્યમ 2 ને છુટી પાડે છે. PQ આપાતકિરણ છે. તેનો વેગ v₁ છે. QR એ વક્રિભુતકિરણ છે તેને વેગ v₂ છે. MQN સપાટી AB ને Q બિંદું પાસે દોરેલો લંબ છે.

અહીં $bold angle$ PQM= $bold theta subscript bold 1$ =આપાતકોણ છે અને $bold angle$ RQN= $bold theta subscript bold 2$ =વક્રિભુતકોણ છે.

નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક : શૂન્યાવકાશની સાપેક્ષમાં માધ્યમના વક્રિભવનાંકને માધ્યમનો નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક કહે છે. અથવા

શુન્યાવકાશમાં પ્રકાશના વેગ C અને માધ્યમમાં પ્રકાશના વેગ vના ગુણોત્તરને તે માધ્યમનો નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક કહે છે.

ધારોકે, n₁ = માધ્યમ 1 નો નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક

n₂= માધ્યમ 2 નો નિરપેક્ષ વક્રિભવનાંક

v₁=માધ્યમના 1 માં પ્રકાશનો વેગ

v₂=માધ્યમ 2 માં પ્રકાશની વેગ

c= શૂન્યવકાશમાં પ્રકાશનો વેગ હોય, તો

2 . પ્રકાશીય ઘટ્ટ માધ્યમમાંથી પ્રકાશીય પાતળા માધ્યમમાં પ્રકાશ પ્રવેશે ત્યારે

નીચે દર્શાવેલ આકૃતિમાં પ્રકાશનું કિરણ માધ્યમ A માંથી ગતિ કરીને માધ્યમ Bમાં દાખલ થાય છે, તો માધ્યમ Bનો માધ્યમ A ની સાપેક્ષે વક્રિભવનાંક .............. હશે.
