The Haryana Board of School Education (abbreviated HBSE) is the main state board of education in the Indian state of Haryana, responsible for secondary and higher secondary education management in its affiliated schools.
In 1969, the Haryana Board of School Education was established at Chandigarh. The Board started working with a staff of 100 officials allocated from Punjab University, Chandigarh.
In 1981, HBSE was shifted to Bhiwani. In the year 1987, Board started conducting 10+2 examination and later in 1990 also started conducting the vocational examination. In 1987, HBSE adopted 10+2 pattern of education and conducted XII class examination under the new scheme.
