How do you perceive the colour of an object ?

The perception of colour is because of the cone cells. The cones cells are of three types and respond to three different colours that is red, green and blue respectively. The sensation of different colours are produced by combinations three types of photopigments of cones. If cones are stimulated equally the sensation of white light is produced.
