Explain population density.
Population density. An ecologist measures the changing population by counting and recording individuals from a larger area for various studies. This measure of population density is expressed as number of individuals in a definite area at a specific time. Thus population density can be measured as follows :
For aquatic organism and organism suspended in medium, space is expressed in three dimension (m3) while for terrestrial organism usually two dimensional units are used (m2).
Give an example for:
(a) An endothermic animal
(b) An ectothermic animal
(c) An organism of benthic zone
