Apomixis is a form of asexual reproduction in which seeds are formed without fertilisation. It is a form of asexual reproduction that mimics sexual reproduction.
Significance:
Apomixis allows certain species of plants belonging to Asteraceae, and grasses to produce seeds which do not produce seeds by the process of fertilisation.
During a monohybrid cross involving a tall pea plant with a dwarf pea plant, the offspring populations were tall and dwarf in equal ratio. Work out a cross to show how is it possible.
A heavily bleeding and bruised road accident victim was brought to a nursing home. The doctor immediately gave him an injection to protect him against a deadly disease.
