Renin is a central hormone in the control of blood pressure and various other physiological functions. It is a proteolytic enzyme that is synthesized by chief cells of stomach. It helps in coagulation of milk.

Secretin is a hormone released into the bloodstream by the duodenum to stimulate secretion by the liver and pancreas. It is released in response to acid in the small intestine. It also stimulates the pancreas and bile duct to release a flood of bicarbonate base.
