1. The acquired traits are the traits which are experienced by an individual during his life time.

1. Inherited traits are distinguishing qualities or characteristics which one acquires from the ancestors.

2. It involves changes in non-reproductive tissues (or somatic cells), which cannot be passed on or inherited by the progeny

2. These involve changes in the DNA, hence are transmitted to the progeny.
