31.

If a and b are unit vectors and θ is the angle between them, then show that a - b = 2sin(θ2)

a - b = a2 - 2abcos(θ) + b2

a, b are unit vectors

a = b = 1

 a - b2 = 1 - 2cos(θ) + 1

              = 2 - 2cos(θ)

              = 2(1 - cos(θ))

              = 2 × 2sin2θ2

 a - b = 2sin(θ2)

Hence proved.
