Comment upon the term ‘windows’ present in human ear.
Windows : There are two windows present in the ear :
One window is oval shaped and the other is round.
The oval window is called Fenestra ovalis - It is a membrane-covered opening that leads from the middle ear to the vestibule of the inner ear. Vibrations that contact the tympanic membrane travel through the three ossicles and into the inner ear.
The round one is called Fenestra rotundum - The round window is situated below and a little behind the oval window.
