13 October -1240
Razia Sultan, first lady ruler of Delhi throne, passed away in a battle.
દિલ્હીની ગાદી પર બેસનાર પ્રથમ મહિલા શાસક રઝીયા સુલ્તાનનું યુધ્ધમાં મોત થયું. સાથે તેનો પતિ પણ મૃત્યુ પામ્યો.

More than 20,000 lives were claimed near Masulipatnam/ Machilipatnam city, costal area of South India, in a severe storm.
ભારે વરસાદ અને વાવાઝોડાથી દક્ષિણ ભારતના દરિયા કિનારે મચ્છલીપટ્ટમ શહેર આસપાસના વિસ્તારમાં ભારે ખાનાખરાબી થઈ. અંદાજે 20,000 લોકોના મોત થયા.

Bhulabhai Desai, politician, was born.
પ્રખર વકીલ અને સ્વતંત્ર સેનાની ભૂલાભાઈ દેસાઈનો વલસાડ ખાતે જન્મ. તેઓએ આઝાદ હિન્દ ફોજના સિપાઈઓનો કેસ ( લાલ કિલ્લા કેસ) લડેલો.

સ્વામી વિવેકનંદના શિષ્યા સિસ્ટર નવેદિતાનું પશ્ચિમ બંગાળના દારજીલિંગ ખાતે માત્ર 43 વર્ષની ઉમરમાં અવસાન થયું.

Ashok Kumar Ganguly, famous film actor, was born. He is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award.
