New Revised CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Pattern for English Paper 2018-19

CBSE has revised the Class 12 Board Exam Pattern for English paper 2018-19 upcoming board Examination.

Central Board of Education (CBSE) introduced some changes in the English (core) board exam pattern. This new revised pattern will render the question paper different from those of previous year board exam paper of English.

CBSE has made the decision after getting feedback from the various stakeholders and subsequent deliberation in the meeting of Committee of Course of the Board and Subject matter experts.

CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Pattern  English Paper 2018-19 Sample Papers

Here are changes have been made in Section- A Reading of the Question Paper for English Core, Class- XII for March 2018-19 board exam.

1 No. of Passages has been reduced to two. * Two Passages of 1100-1200 words * One passage of 400-500 words * One passage of 800 -900 words * One passage of 800 -900 words
2 Typology of Questions (for all the passages) * 6-MCQs (1 mark each)
* 16 Very short answer type questions including 1 on vocabulary for 1 mark
* 1 short answer type questions (3 marks)
* 1 Long answer type question (5 marks)
Passage 1
*5- MCQs (1 mark each)
*9-Very short answer type questions including 3 Qs on vocabulary for 1 mark each
* 3-Short answer type question (2 marks each)
Passage 2
* 2 Long answer type questions (5 marks each)
3 Total number of Questions for Section A (for all the passages) 24 questions of 30 marks 19 Questions for 30 marks
4 Total no of Questions in question paper 40 35
