7 WAYS TO BE AMICABLE AT THE WORKPLACE

1.POSITIVE ATTITUDE

When you- as an employee or as a leader, hold a positive attitude, people around you have a rhetorical effect. That upbeat attitude guards the way colleagues, employees, and customers perceive you. Maintaining that optimistic and emphatic disposition will manifest infectious and make the day pleasant for everyone around you.

2. BE RESPECTFUL

Respect and celebrate differences. No two persons think alike about each and every situation. Working in a team at the workplace, you may have a difference of opinion with people, but that doesn’t give you the dynamism to badmouth or belittle one another.

BEING RESPECTFUL OF THE DIFFERENCES

Instead, respecting those differences will prove out beneficial to build that trust and coherence in the team. Ultimately, this fraternity fostered with respect will transcend your company to the peak position.

3. BE ACTIVE LISTENER

Active listening is the bedrock of effective communication at any workplace. Encourage your colleagues to articulate their thoughts and be all ears to them. Actively listen to what they have to say without interruption or interjection. Make them feel they have a voice of their own and they are being heard. Furthermore, instead of bluntly saying “no”; try practicing phrases like “yes, that might work” or “yes, that can be possible”

4. CORRELATE AT A PERSONAL LEVEL

You should try to form valuable interpersonal relationships with your colleagues. Also, connect with them at a personal level. Show more interest in their family, lifestyle, and personal goals.

When something doesn’t feel right, approach them and confer empathy. In particular, when you portray genuine interest in others, they appreciate it as amiable.

5. SOCIALIZE OUTSIDE WORKPLACE

Your friendships with colleagues don’t have to be fettered into office hours and office space. Contrariwise, plan hangouts or go out for lunch and spend time knowing each other closely.

You could plan an off-site event, a villa vacation, or a day at the park- anything that works well for you. Try to know others better and unleash your shared interests. It may be fun! Give it a shot!

6. BE THANKFUL

A small two-word phrase- “Thank you” means a lot, even if you don’t realize it. This virtue of gratitude goes a long way. Everyone wants to feel appreciated and valued, and a little thank you does just that and more.

SAY THANK YOU

While saying this little phrase won’t bother you much, it will make the other person smile. It will provide a message that their help means something to you, and you appreciate their efforts and support. As simple as that!

7. BE EAGER TO HELP

Whenever your co-workers or colleagues need any help or scaffolding, make sure you lend them a hand. Everyone faces challenges and may require your expertise or guidance to accomplish their tasks. Under such a scenario, don’t back off, instead show concern and help them figure out the issue.

Helping others is a more than sound way of transposing your amicable disposition. People tend to trust and approach you more with that helping-hand attitude. Carry that!
