Chand Baori – Ancient Stepwell of India in Rajasthan

is most magnificent stepwell.

 

 Over 1,000 years old magnificent stepwell !


King Chanda of the Nikumbh dynasty constructed It between 800 and 900 CE.


Dedicated to the Goddess of Joy and Happiness, Harshat Mata.


The Structure is roughly 64 feet deep.


It is a most attractive landmark in Rajasthan. It attracts tourists from across the globe.


There are 3500 narrow Steps!


The Empire State Building only has 1,576 steps.


It is located in the Eastern Section of the Rajasthan province.


Although inactive it can still be used for water harvesting.
